Hewlett Packard seeking Automotive Technical Writer for contract with GM
Hewlett Packard (HP) are currently seeking people with automotive technical backgrounds for technical writer positions for their contract at GM.
Job Description Automotive Technical Writer-1302353 Description Responsible for creating and modifying detailed drawings using CAD hardware and software from sketches, layouts, or notes provided by engineering. • Works with engineers regarding model accuracy and design standards, and coordinates design criteria with various planning groups. • Contributes design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product. • This Technical Writing position will support GM North American and Global Programs by developing & authoring mechanical service procedures. • Qualified candidates will use engineering math data to virtually develop mechanical R&R strategies and create detailed, step-by-step procedures used by GM Dealership Technicians. • A technical background is needed to understand all vehicle sub-systems & components as well as functionality and common service methodologies. • Responsible for creating and modifying detailed drawings using CAD hardware and software from sketches, layouts, or notes provided by engineering. • Works with engineers regarding model accuracy and design standards, and coordinates design criteria with various planning groups. • Contributes design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product. Qualifications Qualifications: Previous auto mechanic/tech experience is a HUGE plus! Education and Experience Required: • Automotive repair experience (current GM Models preferred) Knowledge and Skills: • ASE Certifications and/or formal Automotive Education / Training • Technical writing experience; Arbortext, XML, SGML experience a plus • Demonstrate strong written and oral communications • Illustration / graphics development skills a plus • Proficient in MSOffice Suite (Excel experience a plus) • Ability to work in a production-based environment (adherence to delivery schedule timing, project management skills, etc...)
