Hi, I'm the new boy here and I have the following problem with my 1992 Clio RT Auto. Since a 1500 km round trip to the UK 2 weeks ago, (I live in central France) Clio has not been herself. Gear changing is now very notchy and whilst in motion especially at slower speeds will give a single judder every now and then. I have checked the fluid and it is a nice clean & red colour. As you guys know this model was not fitted with a dipstick, and so following my garage checking the level properly, I made my own. Tech détails as follows:
1992 CLIO RT AUTO fitted with AD04 4 speed switchable transmission. I really love this car and don't want to change it, so any advice will be gratefully recieved. Many thanks in advance ! |

Hi again, further to my request yesterday, & having driven Clio more, I am not so sure the prob. is the trans. driving at any speed and she will suddenly without warning give a judder then fine for a few seconds then another judder and another, then all will be fine for several kms. then we start again, honestly it's driving me mad, any ideas anyone?

Re: Auto trans. problem Help PLEASE !
Hi there, problem solved, it turned out to be "controler compression moteur regler" whatever that is, as far as I can see it means adjusting the valve clearances:
