98 taurus front end troubles

good morning forums. I tried searching before posting this but didn't find anything. I have a 98 Taurus and it keeps eating the outer edge of my front tires. suspension has no play at the wheels. thinking either the struts or needs an alignment but would like some ideas before I spend money I don't need to. any ideas would be greatly appreciated. thank you

Alignment, toe issue more than likely.

Some places offer free alignment checks, call around and ask. As Aleekat said probably a toe issue, too much toe in, or could also be excessive positive camber. Get the alignement check first unless the struts are worn/leaking, then replace the struts and follow up with the alignment.

Re: 98 taurus front end troubles

definitely get the camber checked. If you hit something with the wheel turned it can bend the lower control arm and the alignment seems right and it drives OK, but it has a ton of positive camber and chews outside edge of the tires.
