Tamiya 1/24 Lexus LFA Completed

This kit represents the current “state of the art” from Tamiya and, as such, is a complete dream to build. Simple construction, simple painting, truly excellent results. I love the way the engine/propshaft/gearbox/exhaust builds up as a separate unit which is then attached to the chassis in one. The kit includes all the photo-etch one could want, and the use of tiny magnets gives display options with the bonnet (hood) and rear deployable spoiler.
I chose TS-47 Chrome Yellow as it’s rare to see a build in this colour, plus it stands out from the white, silver, blue or black options (and I like yellow cars!). I added a bare carbon roof panel (I’ve seen this on a real car) and left off the tiny spoilers over the rear lights, which are an option on the 1:1.
I’m fortunate that I work for the company which is the official LFA service centre for Germany so I’ve crawled all over a few of these beasts, and have a good insight about their design and engineering history too. This has shown me that this kit is truly accurate and you have ever looked at the kit and thought it might be a bit much then change your outlook – it’s an enjoyable masterpiece. I just hope I’ve done it justice…

I agree, this is such a well built LFA. I would prefer if you panel line the body to bring out the depth within the panels.

I agree, it's a really nice model, and it looks quite good in yellow. The paint is very clean, and hood and spoiler sit well in/on the body, considering they can be moved.
I think I would also prefer to give the panel lines a slight wash to bring them out a bit more.
