1997 camry LE - front wheel noise - calipers? (VIDEO)
Video of noise:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ynh1XsDzKCA i have a 1997 toyota camry with 235k miles. everything on the car is excellent except i believe one of my calipers is dragging on the tire (frt i believe). At least thats what it sounds like to me, but im not very good with cars. i know its not any of the belts. its intermittent, and very rarely happens. when i jerk the steering wheel to the left it makes a slight squeak and then sometimes after taking a turn, it will continue to squeak as shown in the video. please help me out.. i know its not any belts. and if it was suspension they would have probably told me before aligning it (goodyear did it). (i also say it might be calipers because i had the brakes changed before i bought the car and knowing how dealers are they prob put some low quality parts) Video of noise: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ynh1XsDzKCA thanks |

I don't think there is anything wrong with your brakes. Sometimes, they make a light squeeking sound when brake dust or something gets between the pads and the disc.
I wouldn't worry about it unless it gets worse.

I'm aware... But why would it be happening when I'm not even using my brakes? And not sure if you saw the video, but to that extent? It's a very loud noise... Just had pads and rotors done too by a used car dealership before I bought it

Disc brake pads are always in contact with the rotors. It is impossible for me to judge how loud it is from your video.
If you have an issue with the noise beyond what you can tolerate, bring it back to the dealer (or a mechanic you trust) and have them look at it.
