Window Problems

Not sure what the problem can be, but here's what I'm experiencing with my '93 Lexus GS300.

1. My driver side panel rolls down the driver window, passenger, and runs the motor for the back driver side window (window is off track).

2. The panel doesn't roll down the back passenger side, and doesn't roll up the front passenger side window. You have to roll up the window from the passenger side panel, and sometimes it takes 2-6 tries just to roll it up.


Do you think it's the motor, or a spark plug, or what? I'm not sure what it could be.... I would like to have my windows roll down though

I can tell you with confidence the issue is not a spark plug. But, it's hard to say if it's a switch or a wire issue. Do you have a test light or, preferably, a multimeter? Do you know how to remove the door panel or at least get to the connectors for the window switches?

You didn't mention if the passenger rear window rolls down from the associated door switch or if only it doesn't work at all.

I can spend time to take the door panel off, shouldn't be too complicated. Just time consuming.

I do not have a multimeter or anything though. However, I did take the switch panel off the door. The wires are underneath it and plug into the panel itself. The passenger side switch has a light on it, and rolls the window up, but not down. I have to roll the window down from the driver side, and then roll it up with the passenger side.

Now that I think of it, it sounds more like a wire problem.

Agreed. It's quite common for one or more wires to break in the accordion boot between the driver's door and the cabin.
