Smile 2000 Grand Am GT squealing

I have a 2000 Grand Am GT that squeals loud. It squeals when it is parked and when I am using the gas, but usually it won't if I let off the gas while driving down the road. We have replaced the belt, the idler pulley, the belt tensioner, and got rid of the AC. My dad thinks maybe it could be the crank pulley... could that be the problem? I appreciate any input.

1st I would stand to see how true the belt is running. Since you removed the a/c, do you have the right size belt? I would get a spray bottle with water. Just spray a little on the belt itself. If the squeal goes away, it's the belt. If not, then spray a little on each pulley while it is running.

Re: 2000 Grand Am GT squealing

Will it squeal if you rev the engine in park?

If yes, remove belt and rev, does it squeal?

If no, then a pulley under load is squealing......doubt it's the harmonic balancer.....they tend to thump/click rather than squeal.....

With belt off, manually rotate/feel each pulley and it's respective bearing.....

Also check alignment of all pulleys.....
