Re: for anyone interested

Will need to jack up the rear end fairly high, to have room to slide the tank out....

Your main problem will be rust, and hard rubber......

Hopefully there is not much fuel in the tank......

Rust/dirt can make it hard to disconnect the lines....check o-rings for nicks....

Sometimes the rubber connector between the fill pipe and the tank can be hard to remove.......once the band is off, I use a coolant hose removal tool, and work it around the edge of the hose while spraying PB Blasterbetween the hose and pipe, and try and twist it free......they can sometimes be a bugger.....

One other problem is the bolts for the straps to the tank......soak the threads with PB Blaster, and pray the weld on the nut doesn't break, and cause the nut to spin......if you have a problem with the bolts, sometimes you have to cut the straps and replace them.....

Car this old, those metal pipes coming off the sender, could be rusted and weak......the pump attaches to the sender, but if in bad shape, you might want to replace the sender too......don't want to have to do this twice.....

Install a new "sock" on the pump, and replace the fuel filter too.....some setups use a pulsator or hose to attach the pump to the sender.....sometimes, it just attaches to a metal pipe on the sender.....
