airbag light

Hey guys, new to the forum. My son has a 99 ranger 3.0 5 speed. His airbag lightstayed on all the time. Pretty sureit has the code 27. I took the instrument cluster out to get some dirt out. While out i thought i'd just take that airbag light out. Put back together. And now when i start it it has the 5 code alarm. The passenger airbag light comes on showing the off display. I put the bulb back in the instrument cluster. Alarm still goes off, but nowthe light is off. (In the cluster) i found on this forum some guys with pretty much the.same problem, only their passenger airbag light was burnt out. I found the fix someone.came up with about the light from radioshack. Would i still need to do that even though my light works? Would appreciate any help. Sorry for the long post.
