04 TB with no power (4.2)

Hi guys im a little desperate.
About a week ago I install an amp and subwoofer to my TB. Throughout my installation I unscrewed the battery terminals and the terminal on the fuse box that runs directly to the postive terminal of the battery. (see picture 1) The reason I unscrewed the terminal to the fuse box is because my wench didnt fit to unscrew the positive terminal without unscrewing this one.
After I finished the install I screwed everything back into place. Everything seemed to work fine, but there was this insane buzzing noise coming from both of the fuse boxes. I kinda ignored it since I didn't have to time to fix it. A couple days later when I went to turn on the car none of the electricals were working and when I say none I mean lights, dash, nothing. I fixed this by just unscrewing the terminals to battery and the one terminal to the fusebox and then screwing them back on tightly. A couple days later the same problem haunts me, none of the electrical work. I tried doing the same thing I done earlier but of course it didnt work.

After hours of looking for the problem, I narrowed it down to the terminal on the fuse box....How? you ask? I was unscrewing the postive terminal on the battery, (while the terminal on the fusebox was still screwed on), and the back side of my wench touched the fusebox terminal, this some how created a current from the battery to the fusebox. For a couple seconds the buzzing came back and I could see my headlights turn on.

The things I tried so far to fix the problem included: Unhooking the amp, Cleaning all the terminals with a baking soda/water mix, checking the fuseboxes for blown fuses, changed the fuse between the two fuse box terminals (picture 1) used a voltmeter to see if the battery was good (it was), also used voltmeter to see if there was a current coming through the fuse box terminal. (there was)

If someone has a solution to this, it would make my day...heck my whole week!

Thanks for reading

Re: 04 TB with no power (4.2)

Try jumping directly from the battery to the fuse box terminal, us a good heavy duty wire.

Were the voltage readings the same at powerpoint on the fusebox and the positive terminal on the battery?
