Re: drag times?
My 89 SHO beat a Grand National on the highway. We started at 55 and I topped out at 160. He was probably not gear for above 130 and couldn't keep up. Never timed it from zero. I never thought of it as a drag car like my 69 427 Torino or the family 65 Comet funny car that was the reason I had the 65 Comet convertible in the picture. If I get my 98 Sable 24V DOHC Duratec running again I might time it. The SHO has been gone for about eight years, so no timing that now.

Re: drag times?
I had a 1999 Taurus SE Duratec with an intake, aftermarket mufflers, and stickier wider tires. I had a best 1/4 mile run of 15.77 in the 1/4 mile.
They used to make an underdrive pulley for the Duratec - a guy ran low 15's all motor with a duratec taurus. Some guys have put nitrous on them and gotten into the high 14's, but their transmissions didn't last very long.
