2001 windstar stumbles above 3000rpm

2001 windstar, IMRC works fine (closed) under 3000 rpm. when above 3000rpm the intake runners open and i get surging/loss of power?" no codes.

Check to see if one or more of the little white plastic bushings on the ends of the rods has broken off. I bet one is missing.

Have you checked the fuel pressure/fuel filter/fuel pump? More air is available when the IMRC opens, so it would strain the fuel system to maintain pressure if there are any restrictions.
