2012 Grand Caravan new key
We just purchased a 2012 Grand Caravan and was wondering where to get a key and program it. I know the key will be an arm and a leg if i get it from the dealer. Is there a tutorial that tells how to program it as well?

Re: 2012 Grand Caravan new key
From what I understand the key has to be programmed with a special tool, whether it is from a dealer or a locksmith. The last time I looked up a key for a newer minivan it was about $165 plus programming. You may be able to find one on Ebay for less but be cautious about it. Some may work and some won't.

You can save a few bucks by buying the key online for $79. Than take it to a locksmith for programming.

Re: 2012 Grand Caravan new key
I would first call the dealer and see exactly what he charges. And before buying a key, call around to locksmiths and see if they even can program it. I have a 98 mazda where the key has to be programmed to the car immobilizer system. There is not a locksmith within 200miles who has the equipment to do it.
