Saab Blowing Lights Like Crazy!
Hello -
My Saab has a bad problem of blowing lights regularly. In the past 6 months the headlights/high beams have blown 5 times, the brake lights twice, tag lights and 1 side marker. I bought it used and the previous owner has an equalizer installed but I do not use it. Also when had the radio installed, it works off a switch that runs to the cigarette lighter. If I turn the car off, I then have to flip the switch in order for the radio to turn off or my battery will die. I see where he had wires run from the battery to feed this. I'm not saying it's the cause but could it be? What other things can I check? Voltage regulator? Alternator? How? Thanks for your time. |

Re: Saab Blowing Lights Like Crazy!
Was the radio installed at a shop or was this DIY? It sounds like you found your problem - any way to find all the wiring that was added? i would bet if you where to remove the wiring for the EQ and the radio that it would solve your problem. don't just go cutting wires and a probably a good place to start would be to just unplug them both and see how it goes.
What year/model SAAB by the way? most if not all the lights are controlled by the information display.

Re: Saab Blowing Lights Like Crazy!
check the voltage at the battery when its running, if the voltage is over 15 volts thats probably why the lights are blowing out
