Got in the car tonight after not driving it for a week and the speedo will only go up to 60 km/h. (but I was only doing 60 officer) When I stop it goes back to about 10 km/h and rises to 60 as the car moves off.
Any smart people got any clues? Thanks in advance.

My speedo was messing up and i got under the car, unscrewed speed sensor, palyed with all the wiring etc and it fixed it.....but it kept happening, i kept fiddling, now its ok. Bloody electrics.
Just get under it, jiggle wiring connections, check em, maybe put a mates speed sensor on and see if it works, very easy on R31's.

thanks slip. Can you describe where the speedo sender is? There are three senders I can see on the gearbox or is it on the final drive somewhere? Any help would be appreciated.

I had my tacho play up on me about a month after I got my car, tried the sender & wiring, no joy
Ended up being the gauge itself, swapped it for a new one & it was good as gold. Thanks to warranty it cost me $O

It might be a simple loose wire, or electrical "gremlins" that'll come good?
But hey, @ least you've got the warranty to fall back on. |
