2004 chev blend air door

need to replace the blend air door control on the drivers side of my 2004 chev pu the mechanic says it will take 2 days at 65 per hour. cant afford this on very small budget. he says he must remove the entire dash including the steering wheel. is this really needed??? is there any way i can do this repair myself?? thank you for any help.

Right side blend door on a c-1500 chev. truck has about 5 hrs labor flat rate.

2 hole days at 65$ hr. is a grand labor little over flat rate..

Left side or drivers side tempt door is only .7 hr flat rate.

You had better get a another estimate.
