cruise control quits

when I am driving on the freeway and pass a car the cruise control quits and shuts off as I veer back into the right lane. That seems to be the only time the cruise control shuts off. I just bought the Taurus and it is a 2010. Anyone have info on why that happens?

Does it only happen when drifting back over to the right lane? You might have a bad spot in the clockspring.
