I thought to buy these decals as I"m a fan of Michèle Mouton, how are the decals ? is you choice to paint due to decal (bad) quality ?

@generationx, this is not a tamiya, but it is a good model. Some big flashs in the body and the mould mark of the solar roof. And this is a curbside.

@phil, I like to exercise my masking techniques everytime it is possible. Dmc decals are not the best on the market but it is the only choice for this version. I think that lots of decal softener may solve the problem

Ok thanks for your answer, I may consider buying this decal set, because like you said it's the only way to have this Mouton's Quattro livery, and probably choose to paint the different colors too.

Ah, this is very nice subject, especially because of the livery. I think this was her best driving in 1000 lakes, later attempts did not succeed so well. Will follow this definitely

Fantastic job and flawless execution so far (as usual) ! Unfortunately, the Revell kit (ex-ESCI in fact) doesn't provide the correct small wheel arches and front grille, as their choice of version is supposed to represent the Monte-Carlo rally car. The car evolved aesthetically during the 1981 year and by time the rally of the 1000 lakes occured, these details have changed. The Tamiya kit suits this Mouton's version better, apart from the rear wing.

I have this decal set & have used it on a polished, gloss black painted Tamiya kit. The decals aren't fabulous. They don't respond terribly well to decal softener - at least not Mr Mark anyway. As said though, it's the only choice if you want to add one of Michelle's cars to your collection
