My friend went cheapie and got a maaco jobby for like 2-300 and you can tell....it sux... better than it was but it scratches really easy... You can spend anywhere from 1000 to over 2 grand for a decent paint job...if you want it done right without that warped looking effect like you get from maaco. And if you plan to keep your car for a long time, do it right or you will just wind up spending the money to do it again.

A good paint job (not show quality, but still very nice) should be around $1,000-$2,000. A great paint job will cost around $5,000. My Delorean had a $5,000 paint job, and it looked so good...

Yea, Macco is horrible.... I thought 2k was a little expensive, but i guess not for a good paint job.

So, basically you get what you pay for.

If you want a cheaper paint job, then you'll have to buy the paint yourself and then have somebody paint your car.

v6 delorean? is that a performance exhaust i see? paint jobs have no limit in quality or price...

i got an estimate just to get a few dings on my hood fixed, and to get my hood and front bumper resprayed, as well as the trunk emblems shaved and the trunk resprayed, which obviously means they'll have to match the paint and blend it so you can't tell, but all that was going to be 1000 bucks... so i decided i'll just wait for when i do either my JDM front end or a body kit before i get my dings and shit fixed...

I think if you look around you can find a decent paint job for $500-$800. I found a guy that used dupont paint and fixed a small crease and gott my car looking straight for $500. Shop around there is someone thats wants your $$$ bad enough

This is true. Put shop against shop, and tell them, "Well, this other shop said they'd do it for $$." They'll either let you go, or lower the price. Either way you can always go for the less expensive job. The other thing, you might ask around about the integrity of these shops. Some charge less and do crappy jobs, so in the end it might be better to go for the more expensive one. I got lucky and found a shop that does excellent work. He said he would fix any scratches, dings, cracks, mold my kit to the car, and custom 3-tone paint job for $1800. He showed me some pics of other cars he's done and he did a really good job on them, so I know what kind of quality I'm expecting. Just look around, get prices, look at pics of their previous work, and then make your decision on what you want to do.
