Question ??Cold Air Intake

I just ordered an AEM cold air intake for my 2003 SpecV. Is that going to take in water and screw up my engine. If so what should i do. If anybody has this intake let me know how it is. Thanx

it will only suck in water if you completely hydrolock it...meaning you have to submerge the ENTIRE filter underwater....meaning you have to be driving through a freakin lake. The filter will get wet but that's no problem. If you are worried about hydrolock, however, you can get a bypass valve that will prevent the engine from sucking the water all the way up and screwing itself royally, I think they're pretty cheap.

You don't have to worry about hydrolocking. I've had my Injen on for months and never had a problem. It rains like hell here during the summer.

They actually don't make the bypass valve for the spec v's intake system

speaking of intakes, how much hp do they increase? What about headers or a big exhaust?

Intakes - between 3-6 at the most.
Headers - 12-16hp, usually in the lower range
Exhaust - 2-4hp

Those are the typical numbers I've seen. Check www.b15sentra.com, it gets a lot more traffic than this site.

Whoops. It's better to be informed and less ignorant. Make better purchases that way.

you can get a generic water eliminator for any intake. they are cheap and easy to put in. they just go in any joint. if you cant find any i can get you one.
