TDR Innovations
Has anyone ever used TDR Innovations products? Their modeling products appear to be very high quality and I'm interested in the Cross Ram intake manifold for my 1/12 1969 Camaro. Thanks

Re: TDR Innovations
pretty sure most if not all their stuff is done with 3D printing from Shapeways.com The stuff looks good but it wont be smooth like plastic. I just got a set of wheels from Shapeways, done by a different designer, and the quality is good. The products are abit rough but the material sands out easy. I would guess they should fine.

Re: TDR Innovations
I have and i must say its good and bad... I bought everything one could want from TDR including their turbo kit.. For being a 3D print its very good but it does loose fine detail and also leaves lines. You will have some clean up to do for sures... The price is high because of this. I put up some pictures and you can see in the valve covers that the 502 design is gone and the fine lines start to disapear... Youll see the frost on the blower.. Its alot..

Re: TDR Innovations
Removing the frost was pretty straight forward. I used a damp cloth to remove the powder first and what ever I could then I used 1000 grit to sand the ruff areas down. it takes some work but youll be able to do it. Ive been building as long as I could remember but started building the 1/12 stuff when it first came out in 86 or so. Have a large selection and since I own a real 69 its only natural I build them...

Re: TDR Innovations
I bought the 1/8 scale Webber carburettors.
Absolutely useless. Dire quality, virtually no detail, extremely rough finish. I won't be using them on my 1/8 C Type Jaguar build. Roy. |
