2001 #8 Budweiser MLB All-Star Game Chevy Earnhardt jr.

Starting with a new Nascar project.

The basic was the "tribute to concert" 2003 Chevy. I bought this kit on Ebay in a started and poor condition. The body was painted white and the driver side decal was on the body.



The Seller put a second decal sheet in the box, the 2001 #8 Budweiser MLB All-Star Game Sheet of Powerslide.



Jr. won the 2001 Pepsi 400 race with this car.













The old paint is off...



...and I started with some body mods today.

Starting with the wheels...I put clear coat glossy on the tyres...



...next step: Tyre logos and marking, and clear coat flat.



The rims are black with glossy clear coat .



This was the result, glossy rims and flat tires.



The wheels are complete and done.

A lot of chassis and cage mods to do.











Starting with the chassis, removing the protections parts.









The roolcage is done....















This picture is from a german us car magazin, the car is dale 2001 michigan or pocono ride.



A closer look at the cage in the radiator area.



I fix the body on the chassis.









The front is done too.

Starting with the rollcage today....the color i´m using is Tamiya TS-81 royal light grey. This grey is a little bit to dark, but that´s okay.









The chassis has the same grey.



The protection parts for the cage are made of the Revell parts.
I drill a 2mm (0.07874 inch) hole in the middle. Then I cut the part into 2 halfs.





This is the final result.





A closer look at a 2001 race car...



...and here is my one. The black stripes are black painted tamiya tape.

After sanding the body, 2 times Tamiya white primer.





Tamiya pure White and 2 times Pearl white.







Starting with the red Decals for the a,b and C-pillars.



Put the decals on the body, and in a few seconds this happens....





The decals are completely destroyed, no Change to save or fix it.
Starting again with Tamiya tape and 2 times briht red.







The last step was Gunze clear coat...





Starting decaling today...I hope it works better...

The body was over the chassis, then I put the front suspension in place....this was the result... :rant:



...lets go...















befor and after....





The decals are pefect, but I did a mistake. I try to fix it...but no Chance.

I ordered a new sheet of Wetworks....

The springs are made of Evergreen...



...rear axle is done.





That is the final result...very deep...perfect.
