Meng's Ford F350

This one hit the bench tonight, I am still not sure what I am going to do this one, but I am pretty sure it will be stock for the most part, on to the kit,

taking a look at the frame

A fellow club member suggest that I should drill out the holes on the frame, so I took used his idea, so here is before

and after the holes were drilled

and a mock with the cab/interior

and I opened up the hitch receptacle

And getting some of the pieces on before I paint it

and some paint , used a too hot of black, so it crazed the frame, whoops

Re: Meng's Ford F350

Started work on the engine

And more on the frame, got the tie rod and stabilizer bar on, now there is an small issue with the stabilizer bar, it was real, it wold not being doing a good job of keeping things stable, as you can see, its just a tad bit short, and does not reach the axle

Hello nascar 49!
How good are the tyres in your kit?
My was crumpled in a bag and some of them saved this condition on discs. It is because they sit too free (no tight) on rims.

The tires in this kit were good, no issues, but I do agree, the fit on the wheels is very lose.

And more work on the engine, its not finished yet, just to point that it gets installed on the frame

Re: Meng's Ford F350

I guess I should update, and if I hadnt been screwing around, I probably could of almost finished this one up a few days ago, but no, so what I have done so far, well, lets take a looks see shall we

painted the engine are black, primer in the interior are, and you can see that all the sink marks are on the inside

painted the fan , and installed

started work on the interior

I did not upload the pic, but I put a piece of sheet plastic behind the compartments on the door panels

and a few shots of the seats in color

And finally decided on a color, one of things that has been slowing me down, yes, boring white .

Re: Meng's Ford F350

I was hoping to of had this one finished last night, but the hobby gods decided they didnt like that idea, I found the major flaw in this kit, when you put the side window pieces in, the cab will not sit correct over the interior , it all has to do with the side window pieces, with out those in place, the body fits perfect , so in the process of trying to figured out what was going on , I chipped a good size piece of paint off , down to the bare plastic , so I am trying to strip the cab so I can repaint it.

Re: Meng's Ford F350

Sorry to hear about your troubles - generally this looks like a well-detailed kit.
