Replacing Engine in 2003 Rodeo

I have a 2003 Rodeo 4x4 3.2L. I am replacing the engine, I have a question to anyone who may have any experience with engine swaps on rodeos. What is the best way to go:
  1. Pull the motor and transmission as one
  2. Disconnect the transmission and engine, pull the engine

I am thinking I may be able to lower the engine enough to get to the top bell housing bolts. But would prefer someone with knowledge that may be able to save me many hours of frustration one way or the other.

Thank you in advance

Re: Replacing Engine in 2003 Rodeo

I think you change the real engine why you take this risk that second hand engine are you replace into the the new one.be aware before change the engine that you must match the engine number..
