Smile trunk release

I can open my trunk with the key, but not with the button in the glove box, or the remote. I have a 2001 buick regal. Where could I check for the problem. I can hear a little click at the button in the glove box but that's all .Thanks for any help.

Re: trunk release

First place I would check would be the wiring in the trunk to the release actuator. They tend to break where they flex on the deck lid hinge.

Re: trunk release

I made up a little test light with a 194 bulb and socket, and attached the male connectors to it, that fit in the GM female connectors.....disconnect the harness to the release solenoid in the trunk and attach a test light to it...operate your switch...if it lights, need a solenoid....if it doesn't, you check for power and ground in each circuit....
