Is this what bridging is?

I want to make the best of my sound - I have 2 JBL 500 W subs and one Pioneer GM x314 amp and one MPA 500us Blaupunkt amp.

Would it be best to divide the amps to each of the subs so i get half of each amp working on each sub? I'm VERY new at this so thanks for your help and patience =)

Here are the specs on the amps:

what you need to do is figure out which amp makes the power that most closely resembles what the subs can handle. neither of these amps will be able to power one of those subs the way they should be, unless that rating is max power, and not RMS. the closest you will be able to get is to wire just one sub to the blaupunkt amp, as long as the sub is SVC and rated at 4 ohms.

that pic you posted is for a 4-channel amp that will not make enough power to put even one of those subs to good use. use that amp to power your cabin speakers.

this is a rather mismatched setup you have going here. before your next purchase, try and figure out what you are going for and get items that have relatively similar power ratings. if you keep doing what you are now, you will always have something that you wasted money on, because it is not being used at its full potential.

The system actually came with the car. I just want to put it to best use =). Is there a way to use the amps on only the subs? I don't really want to wire them to the front... I'm too inexperienced, perhaps I could be enlightend though on how to run them through the doors? Thanks

I have no idea - this is just what the guy told me. It handles the 500 W amp hooked up to it fine, and sounds really great...

look on the back of the subs and see what they say. at least get the model number and look up the specs on the net.
