Hobby Design resin wheel question

I'm thinking about buying the 17" Rally wheel set for the Fiat 500 that I'm working on and it appears they don't come with tires. Does anyone know what tires would work with these rims? The undersized P7's that come in the kit obviously won't work.

Re: Hobby Design resin wheel question

Hobby Design sell tires seperately. Ive had some 20" ones that were pretty good.

Re: Hobby Design resin wheel question

I built a Fujimi Fiat with the Hobby Design Hamman upgrade trans kit awhile back.

It had 17" rims included but no tires and I remember finding a suitable tire was a real mission.

The problem was finding a tyre narrow enough in width to fit within the confines the body.

I ended up using 'no name' tires that originated from a Fujimi wheel/ Tyre set.

They were either 15" or 16" and easily stretched on to the Hobby Design rim.

Keep in mind this trans kit includes wheel arch extensions that allowed for a wider wheel and tire than standard.

I'm afraid it escapes my memory exactly which set it was.

Maybe someone can identify them from the photo.

Thumbs up Re: Hobby Design resin wheel question

Hey guys, you might want to use the new stretchwall tires, now available from ScaleProduction: LINK

I've tried them already and must say the product is highly recommended! They really do fit on every wheel size mentioned in the picture above. Real rubber, very realistic.

Regards
Seb

Re: Hobby Design resin wheel question

Those stretchwalls look to be very versatile and coming from ScaleProduction will be top quality. I must place an order for some.

At 11.5mm for the fronts though they would be too wide for a Fiat without modification to the inner wheel arches.

The tires I used are 10mm wide and just fit without any mods.

Thanks for the help! I hope someone can identify those tires. I ordered the Hobby Design rims and a couple of Fujimi tire and wheel sets that were in stock. I'll try those tires and see if any are close. I normally work with 60's cars and motorcycles so I don't have a large stock of "tuner" style parts.

Re: Hobby Design resin wheel question

I have bought things from this ebay seller more then once,
http://www.ebay.com/itm/HOBBY-DESIGN...item5402ecf53b search his store, he usually has several tire sets. He ships fast and the packaging has always been good.

Re: Hobby Design resin wheel question

I also started to build the Hamman 500 and if not wrong after having testing 10/12 different sets I found correct tires in a celica kit, either the ST205 or the ST165 2000 GT-R...
I better think the second choice.

Thanks David! I went ahead and purchased those tires. They look to be the correct ones. We'll see when they get here.

Re: Hobby Design resin wheel question

Hobby design came out with multiple sets of 17s, most of which are tarmac/street tires.
