Question 2010 Dodge Avenger p0700 code

Alright so I got my car checked for why i hade the engine light on and it gave me a p0700 code. From what I have been reading it has something to do with the fact that the TCM has an error that needs to be read. Only problem is that my car hasn't acted up at all. Should I still take it in or just ignore it for now? The only problem with my car is if I accelerate fast and the revs go high, it will coast for a couple seconds before downshifting a little rough.

Re: 2010 Dodge Avenger p0700 code

You might call your local dealer. Depending on the miles and the in service date on your car you may still have some warranty left. If there is and it would be covered to have them look at it, i'd go ahead and have them look at it. If it's not then its debatable. On one hand it may not be anything major since you are not noticing anything weird with your car, but on the other hand depending on what is setting the light, if not looked into, could create a bigger issue then if it was fixed or leave you sitting on the side of the road. As a mechanic i've seen it go both ways.
