Blower fan
1999 silverado 2500 6.0
This winter I have had problems with ice forming around the blower fan not allowing it to spin causing the resistor to burn out. Where could the water be coming from? I was thinking it's the fresh air vent not closing allowing some melted snow to drip down is this possible?

Well the fresh air door, only closes when you are on MAX A/C, otherwise it is always open......but obviously water is entering the fresh air opening.....there should be some sort of "dam" or "shield" in place to prevent this....you will have to remove the wiper arms, and lift up the plastic cowl, to see if it is in place.......

This happened on my 99 Suburban. My windshield had been replaced, and the repair guy didn't put back one of the screws on the trim right above the blower. That left a hole for the water to enter, run down, pool below the blower motor wheel, and refreeze. Had to melt it with a hair dryer, then remove the motor, then sop up the water. And put a screw into that hole!
