studio 27 BMW Sauber f106

So I was doing my Ebbro lotus 72e. Then winter decided to come back so painting is on hold for a few days. So I figured why not try a resin kit. I got lucky and picked up 2 studio 27 kits for 200 at local hobbystore. the other is Ferrari F2007. I have never done a resin kit, so here goes nothing.

Resin and metal is always expensive, still there are bargains to be had if you look hard.if it had a detailed engine it would have cost a lot lot more.I have yet to get one but wouldnt mind trying one out to see what they are like.I am taking ages just on a mfh transkit.

will be interesting to see how you go.

Re: studio 27 BMW Sauber f106

so I used 5 min epoxy to attach white medal parts and as a putty around the parts.

Very nice work. This is an interesting car, I like the simple scheme that shows off the car details.

Re: studio 27 BMW Sauber f106

Thanks
Here is where I am at. I put Tamiya liquid surface primer on, to get rid of scratches. Seems to level nice after it dries ill start the sanding process.

Re: studio 27 BMW Sauber f106

So I sanded the Tamiya liquid primer and the body was pretty smooth.

And then I brake off a side wing. I was worried because the don't seem to strong, nothing for the epoxy to grab. So I filed a grove in it and drilled a hole thru the body. Then I took 26 gauge wire and put it thru the body and bent it down in to the grove. Hope it holds now.

Seems a shame that these get painted

Re: studio 27 BMW Sauber f106

Today finally got some primer on the sauber. Then another sanding session and some Tamiya liquid putty on flaws. Hoping to get another primer coat tonight and hopefully start color tomorrow.

Re: studio 27 BMW Sauber f106

I am kind of a impatience person my average build is a couple days. I need to slow down and work on technique so I can produce a better model. so cars primed and painted the black parts. So a final sand on the primer and then color. I found some paint called wicked colors by create for airbrush so I am going to give them a try.
