Commissioned build: Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution III

A new commissioned build came in last week...

A cool Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution III.

I ordered a kit from a Belgium salesman. It was sealed and brand new. And for a reasonable price. This kit is pretty rare and very expensive on ebay and other forums.

The wheels on the real Evo will be replaced for Ultralite G-Spec wheels soon. I searched them in 1/24 scale and found them at Aoshima but they are very huge! I also thought I had a simillar wheel in my Fujimi Evo IX modelkit. So I dryfitted them and they looked very nice.

The color will be Fayence Yellow from Porsche:

This should be fun!

Kris.

Re: Commissioned build: Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution III

Got married, honeymoon, carpfishing, driving my motorbike and other hobbies are the reason I didn't posted anything the last weeks. But I'm back guys.

First I sanded the body and primered it:

The fayence yellow I got in mind didn't looked like yellow at all and was totally wrong. So I grabbed a little Revell enamel can to spray the body. It was a bit strange to spray a whole body since I don't use this paint for bodies. I only paint little parts with this paint.
But somehow it looked good and I was able to clearcoat it on my marriage day

I also painted the wheels in white and masked them to paint the red trim. I also clearcoated them.

I also masked off the body to paint the windowtrims. And I painted the clearparts with Tamiya clear acrylics.

Last week I spent time to do the interior. It's basic and simple. I just added interiorflocking in a different color cause otherwise it would be too much black.

Now it is time to start on the chassis and fitt the wheels.

Kris.

Re: Commissioned build: Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution III

I made a custom exhaust made from styrene rod and a part of the original exhaust.

After that I wheatered the chassis and painted the exhaust with Alclad paints.

Meanwhile it's finished, so I'll upload some pics of the completed model soon!
