96 to 98 Blazer Transmission Swap

Can I switch out the transmissions from the 1996 to 1998? Both are 2wd, automatic transmissions with V6 engines. They are both the LT models.
Looking in other places in looks like it is possible but before I commit I want to make sure. Is there any other information that I need to look at?

Re: 96 to 98 Blazer Transmission Swap

I know you have probably found the answer seeing its been so long, but the '96 will not fit in the '98 and vise versa. the torque convertor and the way its applied is different. Simply it won't interchange. '95 is only good for '95, '96-'97, & 98 up to I believe '03, but again there were changes in those latter years too.
