Hello all!
I have a 2000 Silverado Z71 that has a lockable center console. Unfortunately, the truck didn't come with a key for it. My local locksmith siad he has never seen a key like that before, and the GMC dealer in town says I have to buy an entire new console top ($172). Does enyone know where to get a replacement key for this? Or how to get the console top apart? It's not that big of a deal, but it would be nice to be able to lock it if I wanted to. Thanks, Bill |

you cna purchase just the lock and cylinder. here is a illustration fo the parts for the console on your truck:
item 4) Lock and key www.lakechevrolet.com parts > your model info > collion parts > console > center > lock and key. i cant ge tit to bring up a price but it comes up as 0.00 youd have to email them. they are very good source for oem chevy parts though. i got my whole console unit for like 400 bucks with shipping verse the 696 the dealer here quoted me to get it. ... good luck -krazymatt |
