Water Leak Rear of vehicle

I have had my van parked for a couple months due to no insurance and when i opened the rear door of the van i noticed water accumulation in the hole in the floor where the seat locks in and after some looking i noticed that it looked like there was a water mark going down the lower portion of the rear panel where the 12v accessory port is. i was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what they did to fix it (Maybe i'll just silicone the rear windows shut) i will post pictures when i go back outside and take a couple

I just came in from picture taking and i noticed that the rear seatbelts have mold spots on them so i guess it's been leaking for awhile( i bought it in the summer and it wasn't raining at the time) could also be why they traded it in besides the CEL(171&174 Fixed) will post pictures

Did you ever figure anything out about the leak? I was just looking at the pictures and wondering how the water got from the back column all the way to the seat latch point on the floor?

You could pull off the plastic trim and get a water hose and try and see where it is coming from...could it be leaking through the roof rack bolts? Judging from where the water is coming down, though, I wouldn't think it was coming from the back windows, but the back door.

The van is on the back burner at the moment as i am more interested in finding a fulltime job that pays half decent. but as for the water it comes in somehow runs along the carpet and follows into the hold down point will take a look once i can actually afford to fix it for the time being i just go out and open the windows for awhile when the suns out and use a towel to do mop up i an thinking its the rear window as the seal feels dried out in places maybe i'll silicone them shut till i get a chance to fix properly. i really don't want the van anymore anyways just looking for some insight from someone who may have had this problem.

got a chance to take a look at it today temp was (17c) and sunny so i ventured out and opened the van removed the trim piece near at the top the passenger side rear window and it looked like there had been moisture running down it so i got the hose and ran it around the rear window and no water came in. So i started looking around the rear door and noticed that the black trim piece that is held down with the 3 plastic retainers had about a 1/32" gap at the top of the trim so i figure it was coming in there. removed the trim and noticed the little gasket was all dried out and i think someone tried to remove it before as it was ripped so i went and grabbed the black silicone and siliconed the gaskets plastic plugs and the holes in the body they go in and reassembled it not sure why they used those stupid gaskets but it is pretty much a silicone seal now hopefully that stops the water i posted a link to the slideshow of the pictures i took if anyone has any other insight to what else might cause the water issue feel free to help out and comment

So far so good we had heavy rains here the last 2 days and when i checked on it today there was no water in the seat hold down and the carpet was dry and i didn't see water running down the panel but only time will tell they have forecast another 5 days of rain and i will check on it again

Well it seems that the leak ended but now i face another problem with a power draw that killed my battery in 3 weeks(never had a battery problem with this vehicle) but maybe that rear quarter filled up with water and there was a short like my last one (was a recall but ford wouldn't repair it) but if ANYONE has a theory or suggestion let me know i have pulled the battery and put it on charge over night, it could just be the battery as there is nothing written on it it is just a blank black case so it was probably just a really cheap one that was put into it to sell it

Well after skimming the threads, I have a couple of ideas...no guarantees though.

I know that some people have mentioned that the rear wiper can be the cause of a battery drain. If it gets moved from its stopping point, then it will slowly drain the battery...did you by chance move that rear wiper blade while back there looking for a leak?

Another thing, behind that panel where your leak was is the REM (Rear Electronics Module). Water could have gotten down to it and caused some form of short.

Well i put the battery on charge for a day and it is at 100% when i hooked it up i found it had a 1.1A draw and after i pulled the radio fuse it went to .51A which i find seems to be about right as it has the securikey and theft system running but then i noticed that it could have been the footwell lights providing the draw (Fuse 1) didn't recheck i just left the battery un hooked as i am not driving it at the moment. but everything is still dry and i just have to do the carpet cleaning as it looks like a little bit of mold setting in as it was wet for awhile and the temps are changing here 17c again supposed to get warmer here in the next week

Looks like the inside of my F150.. My rear window seal is dried up and leaks, and I never bothered to replace it. Same deal with the seatbelts - I killed the mold with peroxide, but the stain is permanent. I was going to remove the carpet but the water rusted out the floor where one of the seat bolts is and the nut broke free when I tried to remove the bolt, so don't wait too long like I did (yeah, we are talking about years here )

it's been dry for over a week now and i have dri-z-air in 2 different places in the van to pull any moisture out of the van but i am hoping to have it insured again soon. My brother works for a mold abatement company and he recommends a product called Killz for mold and will be bringing a sample for me to try on the seatbelts
