7th Gen Celica --> 2nd Gen MR2?

I have a 2002 Celica GT. It's completely paid off, and nothing is wrong with it, other then it has none of the options...except a spoiler, and rear wiper. Anyways I love my car, but sometimes i get aggrivated with the lack of power stuff. And 140 horses doesnt feel like much. Anyways Im currently planning on buying a Turbo that will be out later this year sometime around christmas. Its $3500 for everything, and ups the power to 230 hp or so. Plus there are optional intercooler upgrades extra that will be available at the kits release. However I am attending college next year as well. So whether I will be able to afford this kit is about a 50/50 chance right now. (im planning on around $2000 in Xmas cash, plus whatever i can save) Prototypes of this Turbo on an automatic equipted car run with WRX's and slightly better. So this seems like a good reason to keep my optionless car I mean I think I could get by with that power.

However I have also considered buying an MR2 Turbo. The private party retail of my car is $14k. So I figure I could buy a MR2 Turbo and get some stuff done now for sure. What would you recommend? I've always loved the MKII MR2, since I was a young one, even back in my days of liking Eurotails....okay hey I was like in the 8th grade back then.
