94 gsr engine rebuild

what would it take to rebuild the engine?

How much would it cost or would it just be cheaper and get a new engine?

I was thinking of getting one from jdmhondaparts.com
but its says they are for right hand driver i guess that means shift with the left hand.

Has anyone done this in there car?

What are your future plans for the motor. Why not rebuild for performance rather than swapping another stock in. For N/A up the compression or lower it if you plan on FI. Either way, if you do your own labor it would be way cheaper to rebuild. As for the JDM thing, what cars do you think all those motors come from for us in the US who do JDM swaps?!?!? It doesnt matter that the doner motor come from a right side drive car.

Well you need lower compression pistons and some stronger rods to go with them. While you have it apart, it would be a good idea to replace the head gasket, fasteners, and the water pump. Those are the basics, a little headwork wouldn't hurt either in the future. Be advised though, that if you drop the compression now and dont have the funds to slap on the turbo or sc right away, the car will run like shit and be pretty slow.
