01 ranger fuel pump?

I have a 2001 4 banger danger ranger (2.5) .most of the time it starts right up and runs with no issues. But once you have been driving it for 30 min or so and turn it off to lets say run in the store for a min. It wont start when I get back in. It has to sit for a good 30 minutes before it'll start.

I have checked the relay when this happens and it is fine. I am guessing the coils are getting hot in the pump and not allowing it to do its job untill they cool down. I do not hear the pump prime when this happening. I replaced the fuel filter about 6 monthss ago.

Does anybody have any suggestions before I go out and drop the fuel tank?....

Go to advance or auto zone and get a free scan.
They also have loaner fuel pump pressure gages get one and check your fuel pressure while your waiting 30 Min.
