New Ford Models!!!!

The new F150 will come out soon. I am more excited about the Futura and Five Hundred that will replace the Taurus. The Futura will come standard with a inline 4cyl at 170hp and the Five Hundred will come stock with a v6 at 220hp. The v6 can also be obtained in the Futura. The Five Hundred is available in an auto tranny or a CVT. The futura is available in a Cvt or several auto and manual trannys. The new ford focus will have a 2.4 liter and more agressive looks that will make it a strong competitor with the civic.

The Focus will have a 2.3L DOHC engine (not 2.4L) nationwide shortly. The engine is already offered in California. An all-new Focus is not due out (in North America) until late in this decade.

The Futura is based on the Mazda6, just like the upcoming Mercury and Lincoln versions. The Ford Five Hundred, Ford Freestyle, and Mercury sedan are all to be based (roughly) on the senior Volvo platform which is the basis of the S60, V70, XC70, S80, and XC90.

I like mid-size cars and when my Stang turns to crap I'm going to buy a Futura one or two years old. I admit they aren't the best lookin cars but I don't like the cramped feeling of compacts and you have to admit that a Futura with a turbocharger and performance parts would be one hell of a sleeper.

The Focus will be redesigned on a global platform shared with Mazda and Volvo for release in 2005 not later this decade. You might be right bout the 2.3 liter but I could have swore it was a 2.4. I just found out the new Focus will offer ALL WHEEL DRIVE that and the bigger engine and redesign should definetly help the focus with the lofty goal of competing with the civic.

Trust me...the Focus is getting a facelift around 2005...but not a complete redesign until late in this decade.

An AWD Focus is nothing phenomenal or new....see Europe.....RS Cosworth.

I think if Ford want to compete with the Civic, they need to improve the quality of the Focus rather than give it a bigger engine.

The most the US market can hope for is the European style updated headlights, like Hudon said, there won't be a redesign for a couple of years.

I don't believe there's an AWD Focus, even in Europe, yet.

Why don't you believe?

Ever turn on Speed TV and watch a couple of stages of the WRC?
All those Focus WRC's are AWD.....that is a Focus right?

On a more serious note though, they have been around in extremely limited numbers since 1999, Ford apparently plans on going full-production in 2004 with the car.

Spy Picture of the 500

So far all Ford is showing of the upcoming Five Hundred is a soft rendering. But we’ve caught the real thing! Granted, it is covered in camouflage, but there is no mistaking – this is the 2005 Five Hundred.

The Chicago-built Ford Five-Hundred, code named D258, has obvious European influ

I'm glad someone beat me to it. Just because they race the car doesn't mean you can buy one for the road.

Did I mis-type something or did you not read something?
I did say "On a more serious note" hence admitting that calling the Focus WRC out as an AWD Focus was being petty.
You can buy an AWD, but in very limited quantities.

Due to the homologation rules of the WRC, Ford is required to produce a minimum number of AWD Focus models for consumer purchase, this is a specific rule for WRC homolgation of a car, not more than 50 need to be produced in a year for the car to be deemed production based.

If you have the money, you can own one, they are limited in numbers though.

Considering that the Ford Faction was a concept SUV, I don't know how they redesigned Focus would be anywhere near it unless you are referring to the basic body style?

Ford Faction:

Ford Faction:
its a compact suv and ford put it out in the public to see what people thought of the looks cause the motors just a beefed up zetec. i think if ford gets enough good feedback about the faction they will apply its body styling to the various foci.

if this happens they should produce the faction as well....focus parts are easy to get already since its available in sedan, hatchback, and station wagon models but imagine if they released the faction.
