Has anyone ever tried or did this going in the trunk or the back seat ?? cutting a access hole ? if so any tips on where to cut or do i have to drop tank, I'm not worried about a hole in the trunk or floor, its a work car

The fuel tank is pretty easy to drop out of those. Not sure I'd butch up the car over that. To answer your question though, I have not, nor do I know exactly where, to cut a hole for access.

Yes they are easy to drop.......just soak those strap bolts before trying to remove them, with something like PB Blaster......the tank and lines are real close to the rear deck, and you could easily cut into the tank or the lines....

I dropped the tank on my wife's Sunfire, in the backyard......just have to jack it up a little higher than normal for clearance....

ok thank you , i have heard in some case GM was nice and put a accesss dooor in, would be nice if they did since they cant make a pump that last, i have replaced the fuel pump on every GM I have ever owned , guess I will get started

The cars that they have put an access panel in, was out of the necessity, due to the suspension system under the tanks....

whats the trick to getting the fuel lines off, i have opened thr green clip and the blue one, wacthed a vid on it, looks so easy, but i can not, get the lines to release ??

After opening the retainer, they need to be slightly pinched and pushed up to release the line.

got them , been awhile since i did one, got it all took apart went for parts, got a fuel filter and a muffler strap ( rusted all most in half) when putting it back together i notched the brake line rusted pretty bad, and was wet, wish I would have seen that before I ran into town for parts, I cut the section out that was bad, isnt there fittings I can get that go over the line and flares them?, seems like I fixed a line one time with a new line and fitting that flare the lines??, Gm also bad for running brake lines on rails that hold water and dirt any help on theses lines would help, im calling it a day, moved out here in the country, have no garage yet, laying on a gravel driveway and running to the basement to get tools sucks

You can get brake pipe and fittings at any auto parts store. Bring in a piece of the old pipe to make sure you get the correct size. Measure twice and cut once and be sure to make good flares.

You will need a bubble flare tool.......usually 3/16 line......I think the "european" lengths work with GM......you will need unions too.....

DO NOT USE COMPRESSION FITTINGS!
