Re: please some one help with my blower problem

If this is a Limited, than does it have Auto Temp? If yes, it doesn't have a resistor block, it has a blower module....

Since something sparked, check all your fuses......

Re: please some one help with my blower problem

Yeah, if it has an aluminum heat sink, it's a blower module....how do you know the used one is any good?.....put the old one back in, CAREFULLY(actually, just disconnect the harness and attach to the other one), and see if it runs the blower....if it does, that "new" one may not be good.....

If it doesn't run, by attaching the old one, must have blown a fuse....there is another fuse panel, I believe, under the instrument panel, towards the right, on the passenger side...remove the hush panel...bunch of relays and fuses there too....

Bumping a ground, should not cause a spark.....bumping a live wire, like that cable going to the bracket that has all the relays under the hood, will....

Re: please some one help with my blower problem

Found a schematic for a '97 Grand Prix with a blower module....should be the same.....

5 wires.......harness disconnected.....with key "on"(engine not running), A/C in DEF, blower on HI..... terminals "C"(grey/blk), "D"(brown), "B"(orange) should all be hot with a test light......"E"(black) is your ground(attach your test light to this while checking the other three lines...it confirms your ground is ok)....purple wire goes to blower.....

I'm not sure what was bumped, but I agree with putting the previous one back in to see if it works. You may have only connected a ground with power through it causing a spark.

I'd suggest taking off the negative lead on the battery while working.

You have a 30 amp maxifuse in underhood fuse block in the relay center: A3

You have a 15 amp fuse in IP fuse block 5A
You have a 10 amp fuse in IP fuse block 9C, those are the column and row numbers, don't recall which is which.

AND you have a feedback fuse from the fan to the blower control module, the part you were replacing, which is under the passenger side instrument panel --on the wall of the A-pillar. There's a fuse chart on the top of the thin plastic panel under the dash that you take off for easier access to it.

10amp Fuse #11
