side view mirrors

So i've a bit of a dilemma, has anyone ever had to change their side view mirror? and is it a pain in the ass. I can get the part relatively cheap, or tack on 100$ for a mechanic to put it on.
It's for a friend of mine has a broken passenger side view mirror on her 2009 Mitsubishi Galant. I've tried tooling around myself and can't find an easy way to remove it, and I've looked online and only found one crappy diagram for removing the door panel.

I tried posting this under the specific forum which seems pretty dead for the most part, so figured maybe someone in general could toss me a bone.

Thanks in advance guys, you are always the best.

Re: side view mirrors

You don't say if its a power/ electric mirror or not.Generally its held on by 3 nuts or bolts that are easily accessed once you remove the trim panel on the inside of the door. Why don't you just Google it? Like "How to replace side view mirror on '09 Galant". Yeah, its that easy. Remember...Google is your friend. HTH

Re: side view mirrors

Yea tbh thats the first thing i did, and didn't really come across much. Only thing i found was a picture someone posted which was essentially a diagram where clips were to remove the interior of the door to access the mirror... I didn't think I would have to do that much work. But because I couldn't find much else I resorted to the fall back of AF.

It's a power mirror, but it's not heated if that makes a difference. The inside of the door looks like theres an oval rubbery gasket looking thing on the inside of the door frame which I imagine if i can peel out would allow me access, but I've had a hard time trying to pry it up and dont want to fuck it up.
