Gauge cluster frame.

I'm about to paint my gauge cluster frame. My question is will having the dimmer, defrost and hazard light unplugged cause any problems? Thanks....

Yeah, without the hazard switch, your turn-signals won't work. Without the dimmer, the dash won't be lit up.

So, just remove the guage cluster cover, disconnect the switches from the wiring, then remove the switches from the cluster cover (they'll just pop out if you push them from behind), and then plug the switches back into the wiring and you can take the cluster cover and paint it and still drive your car.

dash

well when I did paint my cluster my dash did not light up till I pluged the dimmer back in and also I had to put the hazard back on for my turn signals so I am with ci5ic on this one I don't no how your lights still turned on if you think about it there will be no solid conection..

hey when you get done with that work man, youd better post some pics, ive been thinking about doing it to mine, and i want to see what its going to look like. I looked around to fine a gauge bezel, but nothing fit my model, so oh well, painting is going to have to do. So yeah, pictures, do it.

Now I'm confused...

What are you painting? The guage bezel or the cluster shroud?

If you're painting the bezel, what does the dimmer switch/etc. have to do with it?
