We are new BMW owners 1999 323 i convertible 23k miles in great shape.
We have no manual with the car and have been driving it maybe 400 miles and the check engine light has come on. Is this somethng I can ck out or does it mean our first trip to an authorized BMW $$$ dealer? Also is someone knows of a manual online in PDF format please post the link. Thanks |

Hey km. Do you know if your vehicle is a E46 model or a E36 model. If it is a E46 then you can get the 2000 model manual. They produced both 3 series in 99. For the check engine light, along as its not running differently and if it is a E46 I would check your gas cap and make sure it is tight. On the newer style 3's(E46) they are very sensitive to pressure leaks. If you fill the car up while it is running, it will put a check engine light on. A shot in the dark, since I can't see the car, make sure its tight and keep driving it. It will reset itself over time.
