Contour SVT swap into a focus
a friend has a project to swap a 98 contour SVT motor into a 00 focus. Any suggestions as what to do with the ECU, apparently, there is an anti-theft measure that disables the ECU, when taken from the car?
Someone said, maybe it has to do with a chip in the key? Sorry I don't know anything about fords, but HE doesn't know anything about the internet, hehehe. -PHiZ

 It can be done. Roush did one with a Euro focus M-plate and swapped one in there. Its very tight! I say forget the svt contour and go straight for a svt cobra motor!    On a side note, in that link that you posted. No svt contour engine has 210 hp. 98 had 195hp and 99-00 was boosted up to 200 hp.

i was was watching hotrod tv. and they had a focus with the 5.0 302 motor from the mustangs in it, i think that would be more apropriate would make quite a sleeper
