Help for extreem low cars....
ok i have my car pretty low...
the top of the front 2 tires sit in the wheel well perfectly and the rear 2 tuck about a 1/2 inch of the tire... ![]() ok i love the low, i love the look, and when i first lowered it it handled like a champ!! BUT NOW,, i hit like every bump and it feels like its x10, i can take the corners like i used to, and the shocks fully compress and i hit the bump stops all the time.. now i know the logical solution would be to raise it back up blah blah, but i like the low look,.. is there anythig i can do to fix this,, and if i spend like 450 on some new illuminas, or agx, will they be blown in a month at this ride hight/???? what can i do? please help!!! |

if your gonna keep the car that low, you will have to keep upgrading your shocks every few months... the majority of shocks on the market are not really designed to handle insane drops.
try investing in a true coilover system, best bang for the buck julian

Tein has a coilover setup for a even grand for the 88-91 civic hehe... probably some of the best coilovers out there, but you are also paying for the Tein name.

nothing wrong with sleeve coilovers....
Being low will decrease the life of the struts, but I doubt thats the problem. Id bet money that its your suspension bushings. You probably need new ones. Check them, I bet they're dry rotted and/or cracked.

tokico blues....
Ive had my car slammed for almost 2 years, and have had the same set of tokico's....those things rock. They still have a lot of life left. Wish I could say the same for the suspension bushings.

Get yourself a pair of Tokico's or KYB Gas adjustable's
It'll ride like a hell of alot better. |
