1991 Honda Prelude SI A/C stops working
My 1991 Honda Prelude SI A/C stops working after travelling for about 5 miles. I do notice that a little red light on the A/C switch comes on whenever it stops working. Does anyone know what this little red light indicates?

what that probably means is that you do not have enough freon in the system to keep the compressor cool... a lot of air conditioner systems have pressure sensors to keep an eye on the pressure level, since the lubricant for the compressor is carried with the freon it will over heat if the pressure gets low
your car being a 1991 probably runs on R12 freon, that is much harder to come by then R134a freon, to get the system recharged most places will have to run a check on the system to insure that it is not leaking before they refill it, if it is leaking they will not refill the system until you fix the leak as R12 freon is damaging to the ozone

Thats like getting a flat tire, and just driving to the gas station to pump air in it - and continue driving on it till its low again.

it doesnt make a lot of sense... but people do it! if the leak is slow and you can get away with it for just a few more days... lol
