Lotus 72C, Ebbro, 1/20

It's been a while since I built a F1 car, so I decided it was time and built Ebbros Jochen Rindt Lotus 72C.

There's been a lot of talk about the red plastic under the white areas - I tried the Zero paint sealer this time and it worked, no bleeding at all. I tried on spare parts first, and one coat wasn't enough, so I used two wet coats. The only problem with the sealer is that it does not adhere that well to the plastic, so make sure to clean and sand the parts before airbrushing it. I did't do that on the inside of the sidepods, and when removing the masking tape the sealer was pulled off, but fortunately it's not visible so I could just repair it with a brush.

I used the set from Zero Paints for the paintjob, the white areas are all painted, except for the number circle, which I doubled up with the unsused white areas. The other parts were painted with Alclad Alu, Alclad Chrome on Revel Enamel Black, the blue is from a Gundam Marker and brushed on and finally TS29 for the black parts.
I used the MSM decal set - both this and the originals are good and immune to the Zero 1k clear, even when testing with a very wet coat on a spare.

I added some wires, Leukosilk belts, the mirror mount and the lip on the front I made from a tea light cup and also improved the exhaust mount.

The only strange thing is: I always have the feeling something is a bit askew, but when I measure it's alright... strange.

Hope you like it.
