Engineering: American vs. German

Usually I would take cars made by German over American. However there are extreme few cases such as Z06 or Viper.

Actually, this got me thinking. For an entire 5 minutes. And I still can't think of a single American car that I would really like to own. Not a single damn one.

basically hermunn puts it the best here. the ZO6 is a great deal for what you are actually getting. I cant believe that the M3 actually won tho?

I just looked at something within the same price range and i figured with 349bhp and a 0-62 mph (0-100kph) in 4.8....and i hear it handles really well and is fun as hell to drive.....

And the M3 prob won over the Z06 the same reason why the 360 Modena beat out a 911 turbo in a comparison in either R/T or C/D i dont remember....mind you the 911 had (slightly) better numbers in almost everything, and cost something like 30K less.....but it was just the feel of the ferrari....one editor said "Theres nothing like that Ferrari snarl".....that said theres more to cars then just numbers. I mean look at the Z06 interior compared to the M3....no contest, and the seats? come on...etc...Now dont get me wrong the Z06 is an amazing car (esp for the money), and there isnt another car on teh planet id love more to be in and drive around town droppin' the clutch at 3000rpm all day... i mean as jay leno says about his z06 "If anything happens to it, its easy to fix. Its a GM"

It doesn't out-perform Z06. Z06 is 0-60 in less than 4 seconds. SLK32 AMG is mid 4's. SLK32 AMG already had a hard time beating Corvette you think it stand a chance against mighty Z06?

M3 won because it was the car that stole all the editor's heart. However it did not out-perform Z06.
