2004 dodge neon sx, automatic tranmission coolent problem

have a 2004 dodge neon sx with a 4 speed automatic, overheated, was transmission fluid in rad coolent, none in tranny, so replaced rad and was good for a 100k and did it again, going to try external tranny cooler but was wondering if the pump in tranny is on its way out
