stalling...
just bought a 96 corolla. in pretty good shape but im having a problem with it. ill take it out and it'll run fine for awhile (half hour or so) and then ill shift down to 2nd for a stop sign or whatever. then clutch in and brake it'll start gettin shaky and then stall. start it, it catches no problem then stalls a second later. start it same thing again. i have to peel out to keep it from stalling and once i get goin no problems. i thought i might have some water in the gas tank so i put some water remover in the tank 3 days ago. very little improvement. any thoughts or suggestions? fuel filter? any help would be much appreciated

does it run hot? if so your termostat is stuck shut...
the alternator maybe in bad condition... or poor idle mixture when hot

Also when it gets warm.. if it still runs, rev it fast and let it return to idle.. see if it stalls.. might be vacuum leak on EGR valve or somewhere.. |
